From the Year of the Elephant to the Major Occultation (c. 570–941 CE) — the fourteen lifespans, the rulers of each age, and the events that shaped them. Hover anything for detail; click a lifespan to open that person's page.
The hijri (A.H./B.H.) years are authoritative and follow the dominant Twelver tradition; a few dates (e.g. Lady Fatima's (sa) birth, Imam al-Hadi's (as)) have variant narrations. CE years shown for the fourteen and for events are the conventionally accepted historical dates; CE on the year-axis, crosshair and reign spans is approximate (marked ≈), converted from the lunar calendar.
